Green Alternative Energy:

Make it green, don’t paint it green
We all need things that work
And really do the things we need
    As our planet’s gone berserk

It just won’t do to cover up
    Our inefficient ways
That suck the oil out of the soil
    And burn it as always

The same old stuff won’t rescue us
We need things made with love
    For something besides money
Fit the planet like a glove

So look real close, and see what’s here
    It really is quite cute
Design our things, with love it brings
For those who give a hoot!

The Importance Of A Teenage Mind: Words, words, and more WORDS!

Hello people of tumblr, I have some breaking news. From now on, on my page, there is a second page :O [you: well gosh Karina, that’s great but who cares?] I’ll tell you:) The poets here on tumblr should care. Starting the 12th of May, I am posting poetry contests for the people here on tumblr….

May I enter my unpublished work at age 51?  Too many of these things are only for the young.  What are the prizes or recognitions offered?  Would winning poems be published, & where?  Would that prevent these poems’ eligibility in higher~payout contests I have planned to enter this year?

the 1983 show (August 3rd, to be more exact) was the first public live performance of Prince & The Revolution. The concert was a benefit for the Minnesota Dance Theater Company. It was also the first time the band would perform several of what would become their signature tracks, most importantly Purple Rain.

THE SECRET OF NIKOLA TESLA  Encyclopedia Britannica lists Nikola Tesla as one of the top ten most fascinating people in history. He was an electrical engineer who changed the world with the invention of the AC (alternating current) induction motor, making the universal transmission and distribution of electricity possible. So why is he virtually unknown to the general public? This rare film stars Orson Welles and features a dramatic recreation of a meeting between Nikola Tesla, Industrialist J.P. Morgan and Thomas Edison, that would decide the fate and future of today’s Electric Power Industry in America and the world. But what happened to Tesla?

Nikola Tesla was one of the more intelligent inventors of the 19th Century. He discovered Alternating Current, discovered Radio, and may have been the first person to contact Aliens…(Okay that last part is about as factually accurate as his role in the Prestige).
Tesla was nearly forgotten because of Edison’s campaign of Douchebaggery (The War of Currents) which left Tesla penniless and discredited. AC current eventually won and Edison’s name was stricken from…oh wait. How many people have been to or know someone who went to an Thomas A. Edison school? He’s a national hero, who stole inventions and probably buggered a goat…
NOTE: Portions of this post are hearsay, or boldfaced lies, but who cares it’s the internet.
